Jolly Good Times Club met

— The monthly meeting of the Jolly Good Times Club was held Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center with five members and two guests present, Charlie Griffin and Harlan Montag.

President Jeanne Hubbard opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, and Eda Montag led the group in singing “The Bells AreRinging.” Jeanne’s devotion was “A Sweet Lesson in Humanity.”

Roll call was answered by five members: Chia - lines from “What is so Rare as a Day in June?,” Mary - riddles, Jeanne - famous quotes, Susan - a poem, “Enjoy It While It’s Here,” and Eda - a story about a lodge trip.

In new business, club members discussed support for the city pound and voted to donate $50 to help with projects at the pound.They also voted to change their time of assembly to 10:15 with the meeting to begin promptly at 10:30.

Jeanne gave the program from “Homer’s Odyssey, a fearless feline tale or how I learned about love and life with a blind wonder cat,” by Gwen Cooper.

Members sang the doxology and sang “Happy Birthday” to Harlan before their potluck meal.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 22. Eda will give the program.
