Back-to-school dance held, another planned

— Student of the Month and Ambassador hosted a back-to-school dance at the Gravette Civic Center on Aug. 27, and everyone had a great time, according to Janna Sharp, Ambassador sponsor.

“A special thank you goes to Marvin’s Foods, Dollar General and Sonic for their food and drink donations. Thanks to the Boys and Girls Club for allowing us to have the dance at their facility. The dance would not have been possible without Chris and Tina Crose. They believe our kids need more fun and positive activities. This was just one of the many fun evening activities they sponsor at the Gravette Boys and Girls Club. The dance was a success because of their hard work and devotion,” Sharp said.

The dance was such a great success that SOTM and Ambassadors are announcing their next fundraiser.

They will be hosting a Halloween Dance on Oct. 30 at the Gravette Civic Center.

The Halloween Dance will include a costume contest, food, pictures, limbo and other games.

Costumes will not be required unless one wishes to enter the costume contest.

The dance and other fundraiser proceeds go toward offsetting the student cost of next summer’s SOTM and Ambassador New York City trip.

“As with any educational trip, the cost is great but the education and experience are priceless,” Sharp noted.

Questions about the Halloween Dance may be referred to Sharp at 787-6491.
