Decatur FCCLA raising funds for Childrens Miracle Network

— Classes in the Decatur High School are competing to see how much money they can raise between Sept. 13 and 18 for the Children’s Miracle Network as part of a FCCLA project.

All of the money raised during the competition will go directly to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, according to teacher Kathy Pannell. For each dollar donated a football with the donors name on it will be hung on the high school wall. The winning class will earn points towards the class competitions during the football homecoming pep rally.

Pannell said she hopes the competition will get kids more involved in helping the community and boost school spirit during the football season.

The fundraiser is one of FCCLA’s national projects, she said.

Community members are welcomed to join in the competition. Those who would like to get involved can visit the high school office and designate which class will benefit from their contribution.
