Gravette gears up for homecoming Friday

— Gravette High School is gearing up for its annual football homecoming scheduled this Friday, September 18. It will include the traditional pep rally, homecoming parade and a game pitting the Lions against a team from Poteau, Okla.

The all-high-school pep rally will be held at 1:35 p.m. Friday at Lion Stadium followed by line-up for the parade which begins at 2:30 p.m.

The parade route will include traveling past the middle, upper and lower elementary schools before arriving downtown and along Main Street.

Featured will be floats by classes, the band, cheerleaders, football players and other entries by local businesses and organizations.

Crowning of the 2010 Homecoming Queen will be held at 7 p.m. at Lion Stadium, followed by the game at 7:30 p.m.

Porter is coordinating the celebration and persons who have entries for the parade are encouraged to contact him before Friday at 619-6269. No political entries will be allowed.
