— A new hair salon opened its doors last week in Gentry with an open house on Monday. Salon Revelation, owned and operated by April Hendren, is located at 217 S. Gentry Blvd. (Arkansas Highway 59), Suite B — across the highway from Marvin’s Foods in Gentry. Hendren, a longtime local resident, offers hair cuts and styling of all kinds for men, women and children. She also specializes in hair coloring and tinting.

Hendren, a graduate of the Career Academy of Hair Design in Siloam Springs, is a licensed cosmetologist. She has worked for the past two years at Bella Mia Salon and Spa in Rogers and has also participated in providing free hair cuts through Samaritan House. She wanted to work closer to home and, so, decided to open up her own business in Gentry. That way, she can be closer to her husband and three children. She plans to expand her offerings and add a second hair stylist, Summer Carrizal, soon. Carrizal is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. Hendren renovated and redecorated her salon location, which used to be the newspaper office for the Gentry Courier-Journal.

Hendren takes appointments and welcomes walk-in customers as well.

Her salon hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Thursdays - until 7 or 8 p.m.

After-hours appointments are also available.

For appointments or more information, she may be reached at 479-841-5973.
