Dorothy Barnwell

Dorothy Lou Barnwell, 94, of Tulsa, Okla., died Sept.

12, 2010, at Tulsa.

She was born Nov. 26, 1915 in Delaware County, Okla.,

to John Grubb and Jett Gadbury Grubb. She was a former

resident of Colcord, Okla., and worked in sales, includ

ing department stores sales and real estate. She was a

member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn

Barnwell. Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Barn

well of Tulsa.

Funeral services were Sept. 17 at Wasson Memorial

Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Larry Ellis, and Mannie and

Jean Viera of Tulsa, officiating. Burial followed at Row

Cemetery, near Colcord. Arrangements were by Wasson

Funeral Home.

John Douglas Einhellig

John Douglas Einhellig, 51, of Fayetteville, died Sept.

13, 2010, at Washington Regional Medical Center in

Fayetteville.

He was born Aug. 10, 1959, in Pittsburg, Kan., to Wil

liam and Margaret Hills Einhellig. He enjoyed remodel

ing, sports, NASCAR, riding four-wheelers and playing

golf.

Survivors include his mother of Gentry; a son, John

Einhellig II, of Fayetteville; a daughter, Elizabeth Phillips

and husband, Phil, of Elkins; a brother, Bill Einhellig of

Gentry; two sisters, including Mary Lou Steele and hus

band Randall of Siloam Springs; and a grandchild.

A private family graveside service will be held at a

later date. Arrangements are by Epting Funeral Home

in Bentonville.

Gladys Berniece Harris

Gladys Berniece Harris, 84 of Centerton, died Sept. 17,

2010, at their home in Centerton.

She was born Oct. 24, 1925, in Dewey, Okla., the

daughter of Claude and Madge Robinson Fisher. She

was a homemaker, an employee of Bemco Industries

and retired from Bentonville Public Schools Food Ser

vices. She served the community as a 4-H leader in the

Centerton 4-H club for more than 20 years and also

spent many years working with the children of the First

Baptist Church of Centerton, where she was a member

for 63 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother Madge and

her dad, Isaac “Ike” Essary; and three brothers, Vern

Fisher, Wilber “Jack” Fisher and Frank Essary.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Wayne

Harris, of the home; children, Robert Harris and Joan of

Parthenon; Barbara Harris Everett and John of San Diego,

Calif., and Marion Harris and Connie of Gravette; a sister,

Betty Essary Williams and George of San Antonio, Texas;

nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 21 at the First Baptist

Church in Centerton, with Stewart Bell and Clifford

Palmer officiating. Interment was at the Benton County

Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers. Arrangements were

by Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.

Gilbert Keigley

Gilbert Junior Keigley, 77, of Grove, Okla., died Sept.

17 at his home.

He was born Sept. 23, 1932 in Mason Valley, the son ofClarence Keigley and Angeline Thompson Keigley. He married Dolores Jane DiRoberto on Jan. 4, 1958, at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, New York. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star with Valor. He retired from the Air Force in 1970 and attended the University of Arkansas, where he received a bachelor’s degree in education. He was a member of Our Lady of Cove Church in Branson West, Mo., and of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Leonard Keigley of Siloam Springs, Glen Keigley of Gentry and Floyd Keigley of Colcord, Okla.; and one grandson, Joshua Hassett.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores, of the home; two daughters, Marty Wright and husband Bill of Bartlesville, Okla., Denise Hassett and husband Michael of Colcord;

one son, Michael Keigley and wife Ruth of Hampton, Va.;

10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 20 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with Phil Lawrence officiating.

Burial followed at Coffelt Cemetery in Vaughn. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs Harold W. Keplinger

Harold W. Keplinger, 86, of Arlington, Texas, died Sept.

12, 2010.

He taught industrial arts and driver education at Ozark Adventist Academy in Gentry from 1978 to 2001.

Graveside services were Sept. 17 in Emerald Hills Memorial Park.

He was survived by his children, Linda Connors, Stephen Keplinger and Sheila Gilmore; five grandchildren;

and eight great-grandchildren.

Mildred Lorene Shelley

Mildred Lorene Saunders Shelley, 81, of Colcord, Okla., died Sept. 13, 2010, at home.

She was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Moodys, Okla., to James Thomas and Pearl McGowan Saunders. She was a member of Moseley Baptist Church and a former member of the Anderson Keys Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Martin and husband, Joseph, of Colcord, and Lisa Inman and husband, Doug, of West Siloam Springs, Okla.; three sons, Stan Shelley and wife, Tahmra, of Siloam Springs, and Jeff Shelley and Tim Shelley, both of Colcord; two sisters;

19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 18 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs. Burial was at Allen Cemetery in West Siloam Springs, Okla. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Brice Swicegood

Brice H. Swicegood, 87, lifelong resident of Colcord, Okla., died Sept. 14, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs.

He was born April 21, 1923 in Colcord, to Lemuel L.

Swicegood and Shabie Alice Brazil Swicegood. He was a graduate of Colcord High School and an army Veteran of World War II. He was a dairy farmer and a carpenter.

He married Doris Brown on Oct. 21, 2006, in Colcord. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Engleman Swicegood; four brothers, Lee Swicegood, WalterSwicegood, Russell Swicegood and Boyd Swicegood;

and three sisters, Ada Callis, Maude Beck and Ruby Godwin.

Survivors include his wife Doris, of the home; four sons, Leon Swicegood and wife Angela of Wheeler, Rick Swicegood and wife Diana of Jay, Okla., Doyle Swicegood and wife Angie, and David Swicegood and wife Terri, all of Colcord; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 19 at the Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial followed at Row Cemetery, near Colcord. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Frank Grady Sims

Frank Grady Sims, 28, of Gravette, died Sept. 19, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born Feb.

24, 1982, in Bentonville, to Harvey Grady and Rita Ann Gaffney Sims.

He was raised and educated in Gravette. He married Abbey R. Poulter on Dec. 3, 2005. They were founders of HotShot Auction Service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling and farming. He attended Northwest Arkansas Christian Center in Gravette.

Survivors include his wife, Abbey Sims of Gravette; one daughter, Kylee Sims of Gravette; his father, Harvey Sims of Bella Vista; his mother, Rita Sims of Gravette; paternal grandmothers Freda Sims of Rogers and Verginia Warren of Bentonville; maternal grandparents Jim and Jeanie Gaffney of Windsor, Wisc.; one sister, Cindy Sims of Bella Vista; and a father and mother-in-law, David and Ginny Poulter of Gravette.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Bella Vista Funeral Home chapel with Joe Betz and Jonas Edgmon officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gravette.

Ben Southerland

Ben Southerland, 72, of Dickson, Tenn., died Sept. 16, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born June 15, 1938, in Perry County Tenn., the son of Ida Elizabeth Southerland and John Blount “Pill” Southerland. He was a retired educator and a member of Empowered Ministries Church in Dickson, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Faye Marvin; a brother, Dan Southerland; and a special adopted son, Joe Barber.

Survivors include his wife Betty, of Dickson.

He will be cremated, and no formal funeral service will be held.

Arrangements are by Young Funeral Home of Linden,Judd Giezentanner

Judd I. Giezentanner, 77, of Springdale, formerly of Gravette, died Sept. 19, 2010, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.

He was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Ponca City, Okla., to Archie Harrison and Neva Lewis Giezentanner.

He served in the U. S. Army. He graduated from College of the Ozarks in Clarksville and later received his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Oklahoma State University.

He owned Gravette Animal Clinic for many years and later worked for the USDA, serving worldwide in the International Inspection Division. He retired in 2003. He was a member of Springdale First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Giezentanner, whom he married July 1, 1962; three children, Greg Giezentanner and wife Cilinda of Savoy, Amy Giezentanner of Springdale and Lee Giezentanner and wife Kristin of St. Louis; one brother and four grandchildren.

A memorial service is at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Springdale First Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home, Springdale.
