Gentry FFA well represented at Benton County Fair

— The Gentry FFA Chapter was very well represented at the Benton County Fair this year. Multiple members participated in the pageant, talent show, as entertainment, and in the various livestock shows.

Chapter reporter, Junior, Kendra Pettitand senior, Courtney Millsap competed in the pageant. Courtney received first runnerup in the Miss Benton County Fair Pageant.

Chapter junior advisor, junior, Kaylin Cripps sang on the midway and performed with a group during the talent show. Her group placed first.

Senior Lindsey Jones showed a shorthorn heifer. She placed first in the junior show and second in the open show. Senior Courtney Millsap showed a market goat. Sheplaced third. Senior, Brent Dorn showed a market steer and won grand champion.

Senior Chelsie Collins showed a market goat and placed sixth. Chapter president, junior Brittany Coffee showed two Yorkshire gilt pigs. She placed first and second in the market show and first in the commercial show. Chapter vice president, junior Trae Wilkins showed a Duroc gilt pig and won grand champion in the market and purebred shows. Kaylin Cripps showed a Hampshire gilt pig, she placed third. Sophomore Marissa Beeman showed four dairy heifers;

three Holstein and one Brown Swiss; two heifers placed first and two placed second.

Sophomore LaShay Hartley showed two dairy heifers and got second and fourth.

Sophomore Felicia Robbins showed a market hog barrow and placed fourth.

The chapter had a very successful year with total earnings coming to over $6,000 in the Junior Livestock Auction.
