SUSAN SAYS

Fall is here with all its possibilities, cooler days, displays of color on these Ozark hills, falling leaves, football.

The football season is off to a good start with our Lions undefeated.

Football weather is here, too, with foggy mornings developing into clear, sunny days. A cold front that moved in Friday night made us don a wrap by half-time.

I worked a full day atthe office Friday and Jim and I headed for Pea Ridge soon after I arrived at home. We enjoyed tasty cheeseburgers and fries from the Pea Ridge concession stand for our supper and cheered on our Lions as they shut out the Blackhawks.

I picked up a fresh veggie tray at the grocery store produce department Wednesday morning and drove to the Senior Center forour monthly J.G.T. Club meeting. We discussed the fundraising project for the animal shelter, heard an interesting program and enjoyed a delicious potluck meal.

I visited the farmers’ market Saturday morning, the last of the season, and purchased some fresh spinach, Swiss chard, sweet potatoes and a small jar of honey.

The musicians were playing some catchy tunes and I also bought a book of country songs for the guitar as a gift for Jim.
