WESTSIDE LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

— Editor,

The first issue of the Westside Eagle Observer, dated Aug. 4, 2010, announced the “Annexation added to Gravette ballot.”

That was the day I became aware of the attempt to force part of our property into the city limits.

The article states, “Von Ree also said that once the legalities are all in place, the property owners involved will be notified by mail with the specifics.”

The property owners have still not been notified. Sevenweeks have gone by. There are only six weeks left until the Nov. 2nd vote! It has become quite obvious that someone is stalling and keeping the landowners uninformed for as long as possible.

The fact that the landowners can’t get the facts is reason enough to vote no to annexation!

If landowners aren’t treated fairly now, there is little chance they will be treated fairly later.

Taking someone’s property, against their will, is no way togrow a happy, prosperous and healthy community.

I am making a personal plea to voters inside the Gravette city limits to allow your rural neighbors to choose when and if they want to be a part of the city of Gravette.

Please vote no on the forced annexation of your neighbors’ property!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please take time to vote no on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
