Ben Southerland

Ben Southerland, 72, of Dickson, TN, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. Born June 15, 1938, in Perry County Tennessee, the son of the late Ida Elizabeth Southerland and John Blount "Pill" Southerland. He was a retired educator and a member of Empowered Ministries Church in Dickson, TN.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Marvin, a brother Dan Southerland, a niece, Jennifer Southerland, and a special adopted son Joe Barber.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Dickson; brother in law Jim Marvin, of Dickson; sister in law, Virginia Still of Gentry,Arkansas and Laveta Still of The Woodlands, Texas; niece Allison (Jeff) Furr and nephew Phill Marvin of Dickson, Niece Dana (Bert) Nelson of Franklin,TN, niece Sherry (Mark) Hunton of Pensacola, Florida, nephew Danny (Shelia) Southerland of Katy, Texas and nephew John (Emily) Southerland of Knoxville,Tn. As well as several great nieces and nephews.

Betty and Ben Southerland were both teachers at Siloam Springs and Gentry.

At Ben's request he will be cremated and no formal funeral service will be held.

Florence Beck

Florence “Faye” Beck, 80, of Stillwater, Okla., died Sept. 23, 2010, at Circle Of Life Hospice in Springdale.

She was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Polltight, Okla., the daughter of Andrew Woods and Maybell Ahrens Woods.

She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Stillwater, Okla.

Survivors include two sons, Eldon and wife Kathy Beck of Van Buren and Kevin and wife Sandra Beck of Amarillo, Texas; a grandson; a brother; a sister; a greatgranddaughter; and a great-grandson.

Graveside services were Tuesday at Beck Cemetery in Colcord, Okla. Arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Eddie Paul Bradford

Eddie Paul Bradford, 61, of Gravette, died Friday, Sept.

24, 2010, at his home in Gravette.

He was born July 23, 1949, in Marion, Ky., to Edward Bradford and Pauline (Belt) Bradford. He married Elizabeth J. Geiger on Jan. 3, 1970, in Cedar Lakes, Ind. He was a welder by trade for over 30 years and moved to Gravette in 1998 from Wisconsin. He was a volunteer for over 12 years with Shepherd’s Chapel until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Elizabeth Bradford in 2006; and one sister, Victoria Asbridge.

He is is survived by two daughters, Wendy Bradford of Bradley, Ill., and Shellie Walker of Gladewater, Texas; twobrothers, Bernie Bradford and Charlie Bradford, both of Marion, Ky.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Sept. 27 at the Shepherd’s Chapel in Gravette, with Arnold Murray officiating.

Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, Bella Vista.

James Leon Earley

James Leon Earley, 80, of Gentry, died on Friday, Sept, 24, 2010 at his home.

He was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Dora, Ala., the son Howard Garland Earley and Linda Theona (Kilgore) Earley.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gentry and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a self employed woodworker who enjoyed building furniture and he enjoyed NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Linda Y. Felkins.

Survivors Include four sons, Howard J. Earley and wife Rhonda of Gentry, David D. Earley of Gentry, Leon S. Earley of Ozark, Mo., Scott R. Earley of Gentry;

four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, and Garland Earley and wife Ann of Ventura, Calif.

An internment of the urn will be held at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30. Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Donny Metcalf

Donny Metcalf, 58, of Siloam Springs, died Sept. 23, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 10, 1952, in St. Louis, Mo., to Joe and Phyllis Imogene Bray Metcalf. He worked for the City of Siloam Springs in the electric department.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff Metcalf and wife, Misty, of Watts, Okla., and Scott Metcalf and wife, Brittney, of Siloam Springs; a daughter, Tammy Helsley of Boston, Ga.; three brothers, including Dennis Metcalf and wife, Reba, of Bentonville; four sisters, including Sharon Alexander and husband, Wes, of Gravette, and JoeAnn McClelland of Siloam Springs; and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were Sept. 27 at the Gentry Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Albert Leroy Sarten

Albert Leroy Sarten, 57, of Colcord, Okla., died Sept.

19, 2010, at the Tahlequah City Hospital in Tahlequah, Okla.

He was born March 6, 1953, in Siloam Springs to Erman Jasper and Winnie Louise Norris Sarten. He had worked for Simmons and later as a caretaker for his parents.

Survivors include two sisters, including Margy Sarten of Siloam Springs; and three brothers, including Leonard Sarten and wife Diane, and Cecil Sarten, all of Siloam Springs.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Allen Cemetery in West Siloam Springs, Okla.

Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
