Suspected cat burglar turns out to be fowl

— While most have heard of cat burglars entering a building through an upper story, Gentry police assisted the sheriff’s office in a call which involved a bird burglar.

Police were notified when a local resident, living just outside the city, returned home to hear noises in her home and see the window shades in the upper story opening a crack and then closing again as if someone inside was peeking outside at her.

Doing the right thing, she left the house and called police. But when police arrived and checked out the home, they found no cat burglar upstairs but a bird burglar.

Somehow a bird had gotten inside the house and was flying around in the upper story, apparently looking for way back out and occasionally attempting to fly between the blinds.

The story ended happily, with no harm and only a little fowl.
