MAYSVILLE NEWS

— We have had rather nice weather for a few days. Thursday night wasn’t so good but we missed the warnings that were out. I’m sorry for the towns that had the terrible storms and the deaths.

On March 3, 2011, the Wilber family from Maysville celebrated the 88th birthday of Billie Wilber. All 16 members of the local families were there to enjoy the party and festivities of the occasion. All out-ofstate family members, from North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina, calledor sent greetings to Billie on the event. Happy Birthday, Billie. Even though I’m late I hope you have many more.

Shelley Bishop visited her grandparents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, one day last week. They always enjoy her visit.

Next Sunday, April 24, is Easter. There will be a sunrise service at the Maysville Baptist Church. The other churches are taking part in it. There will be special singing and a speaker and then a breakfast following. Everyone is welcome. It begins at 7 a.m.

Patti King of Lowell visited her parents, Jack and SylviaTucker, on Saturday, then went to the home of Ronnie and Debbie Sims and spent the night. She returned home on Sunday.

My grandson, Sheldon Tucker, left Thursday morning for New York City. He will be there for a while, probably won’t be back until August or September. I never know for sure. He is in different places from Hawaii to New York City. It’s what he wants and enjoys. Guess that’s fine as long as there’s a paycheck coming in. I don’tlike to go that long without seeing him.

I had a short visit with my sister-in-law, Barbara Tucker, in California the first of the week. She was in the hospital but called and said she is home now and doing fine. I’m glad of that. Her son, Wayne Tucker, of Maysville, keeps me updated.

News is short. I want to thank the ones who send me items. Keep them coming. I need them. Send to P. O. Box 1504 or call 787-5712.
