Police solve chainsaw theft with arrest of Gentry man

— A Husqvarna chainsaw stolen from the Healing Springs area in March was recovered and returned to its owner, according to a press release from the Highfill Police Department.

Highfill Police Sergeant Eric Jones investigated thetheft and found that Joshua Huffman, 23, of Gentry, had pawned the stolen chainsaw at Big Brother’s Pawn in Rogers. Huffman was later arrested for a parole violation and interviewed in reference to the theft of the chainsaw, the press release stated.

Huffman admitted to the theft of the chainsaw, another felony theft in Highfill at the intersection of Pinalto Road and Arkansas Highway 264, and several more thefts that occurred in Benton County, according to the release.

The chainsaw was returned to its owner and the other theft cases were turned over to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office for prosecution, the release stated.

Huffman is currently being held in the Benton County Jail, with a $16,000 bond, on felony charges of parole violation, two charges of theft of property more than $2,500 and breaking and entering, and misdemeanor charges of failure to appear and theft of property greater than $500 and less than $2,500.
