— Raymond Ralph Holt

Raymond Ralph Holt, age 94, of Gentry, passed away April 9, 2011 at Fayetteville. Ralph was born April 10, 1917 at Rule, Texas, to parents William and Sara Williamson Holt. As a young man, Ralph enlisted in the United States Navy serving through World War II. He was united in marriage to Carrie Bricker on January 12, 1942 at Norfolk, Virginia They enjoyed many years of marriage. Ralph worked many years as a farmer and mechanic. He was a member of the Highfill Baptist Church and a former commander of the VFW. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie M. Bricker Holt, on December 2, 1996 parents; son, Robert "Bud" Simmons; daughter, Jackie Simmons Norwood; brother Glenn Holt and one grandchild, Rick Simmons. He is survived by his son, Howard Holt and wife Dianaof Gentry; grandchildren Jon and wife Kim Holt of Gentry, Anna and husband Charlie Fredrick of Pea Ridge, Leslee Holt Hundley of Gentry, Brenda Thompson of Missouri, Georgia Simmons of Rogers, Ralph Norwood of Rogers, Donna and Rora Norwood of Centerton; great grandchildren Lindsey, Whitney, AnnDee Holt, Jacelyn Hundley, Jennifer Patton, Amy Helmich Crissy Cagle-Lee, Nathan Thompson, Kelly Latham Ricky Simmons; 13 great great grandchildren; sisterin-law, Patsy Holt of San Antonio, Texas and nephews Kenneth and wife Julie HoltPatrick and wife Evelyn; two great nephews and two great nieces all of San Antonio, Texas.

Graveside services were set for Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 A.M at the Rogers City Cemetery. The family received visitors at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening. The family has asked that In lieu of flowers that donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers is handling the arrangements.

Raymond Garrett

Raymond Arthur Garrett, 81, of Gentry, died Friday, April 15, 2011, at the Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale.

He was born Dec. 20, 1929, in Siloam Springs, to Ray and Della Mae Garrett. He was a farmer and for a time drove a school bus for the Decatur Public Schools. He married Donna Ruth Amos on Dec. 1, 1987, in Miami, Okla., He enjoyed fishing and gardening and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jack Garrett.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Garrett of the home; four daughters, Kay Brandon and husband Chuck of Gentry, Lenora Lucas and husband Ron of Claremore, Okla., Sheila Bode and husband David of Siloam Springs; Reta Wilkins and husband Bryan of Decatur; son Donald Amos and wifeLorrie of Gentry; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Riley of Wichita, Kan., and Lois Babcock of Jay, Okla.; two brothers, Roy Garrett of Vaughn and Jerry Don Garrett of Bella Vista.

Funeral services were held April 18 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs, with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial was at Fairmount Cemetery in Gentry. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Royce Johnson

Royce Olen Johnson, 61, of Decatur, died April 16, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

He was born March 22, 1950, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, to Furan Floyd Johnson and Margueritte Lou Reed Johnson. He was a graduate of Rogers High School in Rogers. He was a truck driver for Peterson Industries and Simmons. On March 28, 1969, he married Jean Billbe in Gravette. He was a member of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce since 1976 and served as president for the past eight years. He served on several other community organizations, including the Decatur School board for two years, the Decatur Fire Department for 12 years, as well as the Decatur City Council. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Decatur.

Survivors include his wife, Jean of the home; three daughters, Shanna Tucker and husband Eric of Maysville, Ronda Taylor ofGravette, and Kari Lemley and husband Kris of Summers; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, at the Decatur Assembly of God Church, with Kirk Anderson officiating. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Frona May Misener

Frona May Misener, 87, of Siloam Springs, died April 17, 2011, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs.

She was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Colcord, Okla., to Marion Edmonston and Graci Hale Edmonston. She retired from Simmons Industries. She was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Siloam Springs.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Price and Blanche Linn; and one grandson, Larry Dale.

Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Woolard and Leona Curl, both of Siloam Springs, and Eunice Woolard of Sulphur Springs; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beulah Linn and Bessie Spence, both of Charleston, S.C.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, with Johnny Case and Mike Whorton officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery, Adair County, Okla. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Florence Thomas

Florence Ellen Thomas age 102, of Bentonville and formerly of Gravette, died April 16, 2011, at Bradford House Nursing Center in Bentonville.

She was born in Childress Texas, on Jan. 9, 1909, to the late William and Dovie (Williams) King. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God in Gravette.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Thomas; a son, William Thomas; and a sister Blanche Skeen.

Survivors include her daughter, Vera Moore of Bentonville; daughter-inlaw, Margo Thomas of Gravette; brother, Cecil King of Tennessee; four grandsons, 10 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were April 19 at First Assembly of God Church in Gravette, with Jack Deaton and Jack Austin officiating. Interment followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.
