Decatur Easter egg hunts rescheduled

— Rain and storms canceled plans for two Easter egg hunts in Decatur last Saturday, but organizers say they are planning to try again this week.

The Decatur Chamber of Commerce’s annual Easter Egg hunt has beenrescheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, April 30, in Veterans Park. Chamber members are planning to hide a total of 660 eggs and there will be some special prizes this year, according to organizer David Flynt.

The hunt will be divided into the age categories of 2-3 years old, 4-5 years old, 6-7 years old and 8-10 years old. The child ineach category that finds the most eggs will win an Easter basket. In addition, a golden egg will be hidden for each age group with money inside it. Children can also win a bicycle or tricycle if they find the special egg with a picture of a bike or trike inside.

The Decatur Assembly of God Church has rescheduled its annual “Easter EggHunt Egg-stravaganza” to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 30, at the church grounds, located at 675 N. Main Street.

The hunt will be divided into four age groups - ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. There will be thousands of candies and eggs to hunt, hundreds of prizes and several grand prizes will be given away, organizers said.
