GRAVETTE — A successful 7-on-7 football campaign has Gravette coach Bill Harrelson ready to get pre-season workouts started.
The Lions went 11-2 in their passing competitions this summer, with the Northwest Arkansas Passing League games against Springdale Har-Ber and Rogers Highin Mountie Stadium. Greenland was scheduled to participate but never arrived.
“We’re ready to go,” he said. “It’s time to get going and get the season started. It’s going to be hot, but I’m looking forward to it.”
Gravette took part in two night contests against local schools and also participated in an earlier 7-on-7 tournament at Neosho, Mo.
Harrelson was thrilled at how his players performed throughout the summer, including the three games at Rogers.
“I think we competed real well,” he said. “More than anything we got a lot of kids some snaps and reps. Every one of them found out what it’s like to play on the varsity level and I’m excited about that.”
