DECATUR — Hunter Allen Beal of Decatur was recently named to the Dean's List at Ecclesia College in Springdale.

Beal is a 2010 graduate of Decatur High School, where he was very active in baseball and basketball, as well as football and track.

Beal signed with Ecclesia College on a baseball scholarship. During his freshman year he achieved the position of relief pitcher. He then played his final year of Senior Babe RuthBaseball, playing on the Gentry squad, where he completed several winning games, including a no hitter, shutting out the opponent.

Beal plans to complete his degree in sport management at Ecclesia and continue playing baseball.

He is a recipient of the Arkansas Challenge Scholarship and received a 3.75 grade point average his second semester to achieve the nomination for the dean's honors.

Hunter is the son of Bob and Peggy Beal of Decatur.
