Charles Baughn

A memorial service for Charles W. Baughn, 98, a native of Gravette who died June 12, 2011, in Thousand Oaks, Calif., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the Inn at Carnall Hall on the U of A campus in Fayetteville. Baughn’s obituary was published in the Eagle Observer on June 20, 2011.

John Brown

John Brown, 33, of Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, N.C., formerly of Siloam Springs, died Aug. 6, 2011, in the line of duty in Afghanistan.

He was born Nov. 3, 1977, in Sacramento, Calif., to Dan Brown and Elizabeth Newlun. He grew up in Siloam Springs and was a 1996 graduate of Siloam Springs High School. He also attended John Brown University. He was in the United States Air Force and served as a pararescueman assigned to the 24th Special Tactics Squadron, 724th Special Tactic Group, Air Force Special Operations Command, Pope Field, N.C.

Survivors include his wife Tabitha of the home; mother and stepfather Elizabeth and John Newlun of Gentry; father, Dan Brown of Destin, Fla.; two brothers, Danny Brown of Tallahassee, Fla., Lucas Brown of Orlando, Fla.; step sisters Jessica Robbins of Mena; Justine Ransom of Gentry; Jamie Newlun of Gentry; maternal grandparents, Roy and Marian Herndon of Walnut Creek, Calif.; paternal grandmothers, Virginia Brown of Gravette and Billie Sugg of Rogers.

A memorial service was held Aug. 16 at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church, Siloam Springs. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Russell Easley

Russell Rhea Easley, 82, of Colcord, Okla., died Aug. 10, 2011, at his home.

He was born Oct. 16, 1928 in Exeter, Mo., to Frank and Myrtle Easley. He married Mary Margaret Brower on July 17, 1948, in Mano, Mo. He lived in the northwest Arkansas area since 1967. He owned and operated his own plumbing business, Easley Plumbing, and worked for OH Phillips and McKee Foods. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gentry.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Easley, of the home; two sons, John Easley and wife Sally of Neosho, Mo., and Mark Easley and wife Carla of Colcord; two daughters, Kathy McGee and husband Denver of Highfill, and Le’Ann Watanabe and husband David of Highfill; 10 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Wanda Willyard of Golden, Mo.

Funeral services were Aug. 15, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Gentry, with Robin Cowin officiating. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Thomas Vaughn

Thomas Vaughn, 83, of Fayetteville, formerlyof Highfill, died Aug. 13, 2011, in Springdale.

He was born April 3, 1928, in Washington County to William Henry Vaughn and Lennie Blanche Buson Vaughn. He was a former employee of Gates Manufacturing in Siloam Springs.

Survivors include two brothers, John Vaughn of Chouteau, Okla.; Jerry Vaughn of Sandusky, Okla.; five sisters, Juanita Williamson of Oologah, Okla.; Verna Moss of Goodman, Mo.; Naomi Yarberry of Catoosa, Okla. Jody Blakemore of Springdale; Linda Shaw of Collinsville, Okla.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Aug. 16 at Yell Cemetery in Robinson. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Vernon Webb

Vernon Lee Webb, 61, of Gravette, died Aug. 11, 2011, in Bentonville.

He was born July 30, 1950, in Port Lewis, Wash. He was a mechanic and enjoyed his Harleys and spending time on the computer.

Survivors include two daughters, Micah Myers and husband Gary, and Shari Ritzman; and four grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home.
