Paynes hold family reunion

— The Payne family celebrated their annual reunion over the weekend of Aug. 12, 13 and 14 with nearly 75 present, ranging from our “Something Old” 91-year-old great-great-greatuncle Delbert to the newest family member, one-month old Kylee, “Something New.”

Friday, the 12th, the family met in Gentry at Delbert and Jo’s house for a hamburger fry and swim party. We also had a wedding shower for Cade and Nikki Mayer of Arizona.

Saturday we proudly wore new red “Payne Family” shirts for our “Something Old, Something New” wedding float. Again, thanks to bride and groom Nikki and Cade. That evening we met at The Gallery for pizza and fellowship. (This family likes to eat.)

Sunday, the 14th, was our big day at the Civic Center in Gravette. Visiting, eating, playing games and the family auction were enjoyed by all.

Those attending from Oklahoma were Uncle Delbert O’Neal and May Baker of Grove, Delbert M. and Arleta O’Neal from Sand Springs, Rick and Janet Payne and Candy Williams and children John Wayne, Matthew and Rebecka of Vinita.

Attending from Missouri were Paula Nicholson and son James from Harrisonville, Tom and Carolyn Barber, son Levi and grandson Jonathon, our cousins from Dixon, Mo.

Hal and Patti Cummins came from Coppell, Texas, and Robert and Barbara Wineberg from Lake City, Fla. Reverend Bob performed the “wedding” for Cade and Nikki Mayer, our newlyweds from Tucson, Arizona, and Bethany Rose came from Phoenix.

Family members hailing from Arkansas included Fayetteville residents Mandy Beth Payne, Patrick Cummins, Rachal Cummins and Vinnie and Christine Audo who stood up with the bridegroom.Other Arkansas residents were Steve and Timmy Payne, Troy Juzeler, Don and Nancy Payne, Doug Payne, Johnny Payne, Cody Payne, Debbie Buckner and Tina Boling and children Allie and Chris, all of Bentonville; Gayle Turner, granddaughter Audrey Walker and greatgranddaughter Rylie from Rogers, Brian, Cheryl, Hogan and Hayden Bowen of Springdale, Donnie Lee and Marilyn Payne and daughter Emily of Bella Vista.

Delbert Payne and Jo Jackson came from Gentry, Chuck and Lisa Garrett and Blake Garrett from Decatur, Blake’s one-month-old daughter Kylee and mother ShawnaCampbell from Lowell. Attending from the hometown of Gravette were Bill and Clara Payne, Sue Rice, Billy Reynolds, Lanny and Snooky Garrett, Debbie Saunders, Lief and AmyGarrett, Jarod and Lacy Morgan, Jeff and Lana Turner and Layla Eason with daughters Abby and Aryn.

A good time was had by all.
