Angel Food helps local families to stretch their food budget

— GRAVETTE - Angel Food Ministries, at the First Christian Church in Gravette, allows area residents to stretch their food dollar by paying less than retail for quality food items.

The local ministry is part of a non-denominational nation-wide program that serves thousands of families. Units of food are sold in boxes forabout half of retail value, with a different menu every month. Each box feeds a family of four for about a week or a single senior citizen for almost a month, according to the organization’s website, www.angelfood.com.

New items are available and more protein and vegetables have been added to the boxes, according to Gravette’s site director Linda Martin.

The ministry will betaking orders from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 9, and 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 10, at the First Christian Church in Gravette. Delivery is Sept. 24. Menus and pictures of products can be viewed and orders can be placed online at angelfood.com.
