Maysville E.H. Club meets

MAYSVILLE - The Maysville E.H. Club met July 28 for an afternoon meeting, with eight members present. The group sang “America,” followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Several helpful hints were given: Put salt in a small wide-mouth jar to use when measuring for recipes - there will be less waste; Store marshmallows in the freezer to prevent stickiness; An empty plastic bottle, like a shampoo bottle, can be used to unplug asink - put the top of the bottle into the sink drain and squeeze in and out until the clog dislodges; Put vinegar in bottle caps to keep fruit flies away.

Jewel Crawley offered horticultural advice on rooting African violets: Use a small jar, such as an empty baby food jar; cover the opening with aluminum foil; put water in the jar and poke a hole in the foil to insert the African violet leaf. It will take up to two months to develop roots.

Everyone answered roll call by telling of their favorite bird.
