Mt. Pleasant just spent the last week at Care and Share. We had a good time as usual. Did a lot of work and visited with a lot of people. Our next session will be sometime in October so folks we will see you then. Care and Share broke ground for our new building on Saturday the 27th. I didn't go but Brothers Lastovica and Spears represented Mt. Pleasant. It was well attended by local churches as well as dignitaries. We look forward to moving into a new place. Hopefully it won't be too out of place for our customers.

Sympathies are extended to the following families of our community. Bonnie Walker and family in thepassing of her husband Ivan. Ivan was a long time farmer/cattleman in our area. He will be missed by family and friends alike. Betty Howard and family in the passing of her husband Bill. Bill was a former mayor of Gravette and currently served on the City Council as well as many other civic organizations. Bill's passing will leave quite a gap in Gravette for a long time to come. Susan Holland and family in the passing of her brother Richard Douglas. I didn't know Mr. Douglas but I do know Susan and I know how hard it is to lose a brother. Please keep all these good folks in your prayers and let them know that you are thinking ot them, offer to help in anyway that you can.

Well the nights are getting cooler. Maybe it will extend up into the day. I'm sure that it will cool down soon then we will probably complain that it is too cold.However it has been an unusual summer. I don't know when we have had such an extended heat wave. Maybe Dodie knows...

Mt. Pleasant had our annual Ice Cream Social on Saturday night. Had a good turnout and lots of fantastic homemade ice-cream. We had vanilla, pineapple and peach. Lots of other deserts to accompany the ice cream.

Well I need to brag. I was blessed with a grandson on Aug. 16th. Forrest Lee Mc-Vay made his entrance into this world at around 6 p.m., weighing in at 9 pounds, 7 ounces, 20.5 inches long. and with lots of dark hair.He's a beautiful little boy. Daddy Daniel and mom Dena and sisters Laramie and Austyn are excited with this new addition to their family. Me too.
