Alice Elizabeth Bishop

Alice Elizabeth Foster Bishop, 91, of Siloam Springs, died Dec. 4, 2011, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville.

She was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Mounds, Okla., to Walter Scott Foster and Lucy Grant Foster. She was raised near Okemah, Okla., and lived in Illinois, Nebraska and Colorado until 1958, when she moved to Northwest Arkansas. She was an Air Force veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean War. She was a homemaker and a chicken farmer.

She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Quentin, and two sisters, Ida and Emma Lou.

Survivors include her husband, John Bishop, of the home; two sons, John Bishop and wife Marcia of Siloam Springs, and Rob Bishop and wife Judy of Gravette; two daughters, Pam Phipps and husband Van, and Sandy Johnson and husband Joe, all of Siloam Springs; nine grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Vada Foster of Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Nick Braschler officiating. Burial will follow at Norwood Cemetery, Highway 244, in the Norwood Community. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Juanita Coffee

Juanita Schell Coffee, 86, of Bentonville, died Nov. 29, 2011, at her son’s residence in Rogers.

She was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Jacket, Mo., the daughter of Seanie Hall and Samuel Joshua Schell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Price Coffee; her mother and father; three brothers, Waldo, Orville and Sam Schell; and two sisters, Martha Schell and Nola Hall.

She is survived by two sons, Fred Coffee and his wife Judy of Rogers, Darrel Coffee and his wife Nina of Springdale; and one daughter, Wanda Coffee-Mullins of Bentonville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Dec. 2 at Antioch Cemetery in Jacket, Mo., with Gil Curren and Walton Hook officiating. Arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville.

William Johnson

William T. Johnson, 86, of Gravette, died Nov. 25, 2011, at Concordia Health and Rehab in Bella Vista.

He was born Sept. 25, 1925, in Alamogordo, N.M., to Thomas Elbert and Iva Johnson. He grew up in Westville, Okla. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married Freda Mae Reese on Aug. 25, 1946. He lived on a small farm in the Mt. Pleasant Community near Gravette. He attended Donivan Full Gospel Church and the Bella Vista Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by son, Larry Trent; his parents; grandson, Reese Johnson; and his wife.

He is survived by his sons, Billy Wayne Johnson and wife Debbie of Gravette, Eddie Johnson and wife Nancy of Springfield, Mo., Fred Johnson and wife Kelly of Owasso, Okla.; a brother, Thomas Elbert Johnson and wife Lela; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat-grandchild.

Funeral services were Nov. 30, at Bella Vista Assembly of God, with Jonathan Watson officiating. Interment was at Daniel Cemetery. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home.

Heidi Langston

Heidi Langston, 62, of Gentry, died Nov. 17, 2011, at her home in Gentry.

She was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 16, 1949, to Fred and Trudy (Glanzmann) Scheunemann. She was a registered nurse and was a member of the Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers; she also volunteered her time with the LINUS Foundation and enjoyed traveling with her husband Burl.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Victor Scheunemann.

She is survived by her husband, Burl Langston of the home; stepfather, Heinz Paetzold and wife Sonja of Arizona; stepmother, Gisela Scheunemann of Mountain Home; one son, Jason Kopsa of California; two brothers, Andrew Paetzold and wife Martha of Illinois, Eric Scheunemann of Eureka Springs; two sisters, Anna Moses and husband William of Connecticut, Julie Deihl and husband Mark of Bella Vista; one stepsister, Heidi DeGraf and husband Dave of Bella Vista; and two granddaughters.

Memorial services were Dec. 4 at the Gentry SDA Church. Arrangements were by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home and Crematory of Rogers.

Orval ‘Fred’ Little

Orval “Fred” Little, 85, of Neosho, Mo., died at his home on Dec. 1, 2011.

He was born May 25, 1926, in Kingston to William Art Little and Eddie Morning Griggs Little. He married Floy Nadine Yingst on Nov. 22, 1946, in Huntsville. He worked for the Heekin Can Co. He loved to fish and hunt, was a coin collector and farmed and raised cattle. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lavoyd and Doyle Little; and one sister, Imogene McCarley.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nadine Little of the home; one daughter, Teresa Joan Fink and husband Jimmy of Gravette; one son, Timmy Fred Little of Goshen; one sister, Irene Arms of Southwest City, Mo.; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were Dec. 5, with Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial was at Friendship Cemetery. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.

Charles Patton

Charles R. Patton, 78, of Decatur, died Dec. 3, 2011.

He was born March 31, 1933, in Decatur, to Charlie Holt Patton and Pearl Marion (Green) Patton. He worked at Peterson Farms in Decatur and was an avid coon and squirrel hunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dick Patton; and one grandchild, Little Ramon.

Survivors include his two daughters, Terri Winchester of Bentonville and Charlyn Newburn of Bentonville; two sons, Ramon Patton and his wife Judy of Decatur and Marty Patton and his wife Denise of Anderson, Mo.; two brothers, Bob Patton of Decatur and Steve Patton and his wife Pam of Watts, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Dec. 6 at the funeral home with burial following at Decatur Cemetery. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Thomas Stephenson

Thomas Andrew Stephenson, 93, of Shawnee, Okla., died at Shawnee on Nov. 28, 2011.

He was born Aug. 12, 1918, and grew up near Jay, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Maxine McCombs on Jan. 19, 1943. He was a plumber. He was a Christian and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Shawnee. He served in several churches throughout his lifetime and helped with mission and church building projects in the U.S.A, Africa, Guatemala, the Virgin Islands and Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his wife, on Jan. 2, 1998; and his two sisters, Leota and Wenona.

He is survived by one son, Tommy Stephenson of Shawnee; three daughters, Shirley Marling of Texas, Wendy Smika of Shawnee, and Marlene Stephenson of Shawnee; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several greatgreat-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Dec. 1 at Row Cemetery in Colcord, Okla., with Mike Craig officiating. A memorial service was held at Temple Baptist Church, Shawnee, on Dec. 3.

Baxter Ward

Baxter Paul Ward, 77, of Maysville, died Dec. 1, 2011, at his home.

He was born March 21, 1934, near Watts, Okla., to Getty Clarence Ward and Juanita Eunice Masters Ward. He lived most of his life in the northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma areas where he was a dairy farmer and cowboy. He was a member of the Tri-State Round-Up Club and enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his favorite horse, Ole Blue. He married Lotus Carter on Oct. 24, 1956, in Paonia, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth Ward and Darrel Ward; and one daughter, Peggy Jean Ward.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, James Ward of Tucson, Ariz., and Wayne Ward of Maysville; two brothers, Delbert Ward of Jay, Okla., and Jarrel Ward and wife Darlene of Doddridge; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services were Dec. 3 at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, with Jim Alexander officiating. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs,

Bernice Woodcock

Bernice Lucille Woodcock, 93, of Rogers, died Dec. 3, 2011, in Rogers.

She was born April 29, 1918, in Prairie Grove, to Leo Leonard and Ethel Edens Weimer. She was retired from Rogers Memorial Hospital and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rogers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, painting, crafting and researching family genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Floyd Woodcock; her daughter, Faye Leach; and four brothers, Clarence, Cecil, Murril and Wayne Weimer; one sister, Leeta Sprinkles; one grandson Larry Joe Leach; and one great-grandson, Christopher Townsend.

She is survived by her children, Bobby Woodcock and wife Annie of Hiwasse, Ruth Townsend of Rogers, Thelma Benbrook and husband Royce of Bentonville, and Wilma Cunningham and husband Jim of Bentonville; her sister, Reba Ash of Teague, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five greatgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
