Gentry residents arrested for making meth

— Five people were arrested in connection to a drug bust at a West Siloam Springs home where methamphetamine was being manufactured.

James Leroy Millican, 58, of West Siloam Springs, Franky Joe Hughes, 55, of Siloam Springs, and Melody Dawn Richardson, 20, and Crystal Dawn McNelly, 20, both of Gentry, were all arrested Monday night on manufacturing methamphetamine charges, Police Chief Larry Barnett said.

On Tuesday, David Tennant, 47, was arrested on a charge of endeavoring tomanufacture methamphetamine, Barnett said.

Tennant told police he was trading ingredients to make methamphetamine for a place to live. Tennant said he was living with Millican at 447 Beaver Springs Road.

Millican had rented the house for about the past three months, Barnett said.

Police responded to the home after receiving information of drug activity there.

Capt. Rick Wilkerson and officer Sam Byers, both of West Siloam Springs Police Department, responded there to find Millican, Hughes, Richardson and McNelly in the processof making methamphetamine.

Officers arrested the suspects and called Capt. Ron Teel of Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. Teel is lab certified, along with Barnett, the police chief said.

After searching the home, police found items commonly used to make methamphetamine.

All the suspects were taken to Delaware County Jail and were being held on $20,000 bond.

Millican, Hughes and McNelly return to Delaware County District Court on Dec. 13, while Richardson will go back Dec. 21. Tennant was set to go to court on Thursday.
