Don’t forget the town meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Hiwasse Baptist Church.

Word has been received that former resident Reba Easley has passed away this week. She lived in Hillsboro, Texas, and services and burial will be there.

Lucky our neck of the woods missed the snow Monday night.

Billie Keith visited with Mae Kilgore at the Siloam Springs nursing home this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier and I had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier on Sunday.

Zack Allen spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mike and Gabe.

Tommy Fisher from Oklahoma spent time over the weekend with his grandmother, Ruby Hight, and his uncle,Gene Roberts.

Gary Cowick and daughter Keli from Irving, Texas, have been visiting in the area this week after being called here by the serious illness of his mother, Imalee Hendrix.

Imalee Hendrix is back in the hospital again and in need of our prayers.

Saturday evening Novella Carlton, Dean Fletcher, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fletcher enjoyed supper at Catfish John’s, celebrating Dean’s, Novella’s and Geneva’s birthdays.

Jake Carver had some friends help celebrate his birthday on Saturday. It was an early celebration since his birthday is actually on Wednesday.

Dec. 14, 1911, Roald Amundsen reached the South Pole - the first person to do so - beating rival explorer Robert F. Scott.
