— The Gravette Lions dropped a pair of close games this past week when the Pea Ridge Blackhawks edged the Lions 55-53 in the Hawks gym in eastern Benton County last Tuesday.

And on Friday the Prairie Grove Tigers proved a bit too much as they took a 42-39 win from the Lions in Gravette.

Terence Pierce led scores with 23 points against the Blackhawks, while Kyle Bilderback added 13 and Matt van Otterloo added 9.

Against the Tigers, Pierce had 7 points, with Carson Pollreis and van Otterloo each adding 6. Pollreis had 7 rebounds and Jeremy McGarrah 5.

Lady Lions

In girls action, Gravette brought home a 39-37 win over the Lady Blackhawks in Pea Ridge but dropped a 59-32 decision to the Prairie Grove Lady Tigers in a game played in Gravette. No individual stats were available.

Action this week will involve games in Gravette this Tuesday night against Greenland, with Elkins coming to town Friday night. Action will suspend until after the Christmas holiday except for action in the Alma Tournament at that Crawford County school.
