Jolly Good Times Club held December meeting

— The December meeting of the Jolly Good Times Club was held Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center.

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Members sang “Jingle Bells.” Susan Holland read the devotion, “When Christmas Has Come and Gone, What Then?”

Roll call responses included various uses for bread, a suggestion to use Alka-Seltzer to clean jewelry, a thought for the day, church bulletin bloopers and a reading, “What’s Your Attitude?”

Secretary Betty Howard read the minutes of the November meeting. There was no treasurer’s report but it was reported that$150 had been donated for Care and Share holiday food baskets.

There was no old business. In new business the group’s donation to the animal shelter was discussed. Members agreed to use any remaining funds to help erect a wind barrier at the shelter.

Susan Holland gave the program, a reading titled “Santa Claus - May You Always Believe in Magic.”

Members sang the doxology before adjourning to eat the Senior Center Christmas dinner.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 25. Mary Griffin will give the program.
