Christmas Singspiration

The Gentry Church of God (Holiness) will be holding a special “Christmas Singspiration” service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21. This will be a special time of musical worship and praise. Fellow Christians are invited to bring a Christmas song, reading or poem. The church is located just north of the Gentry police station, at 104 North Collins. Care and Share Holiday Hours

Care and Share will be open Monday, Dec. 19, through Thursday, Dec. 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Jan. 2. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Gentry Holiday Hours

Gentry city offices and its public library will be closed Dec. 23-26 and Dec. 31- Jan. 2. The January council meeting will be Jan. 9.

Decatur Holiday Hours

The Decatur City Hall will close at noon, Dec. 23, and will remain closed on Dec. 26 for the Christmas holiday.

DNE Christmas Program

The Decatur Northside Elementary School will hold two Christmas programs on Dec. 21. Students in kindergarten through the third grade will perform in a program at 9 a.m., and students in fourth through sixth grades will perform in another program at 1:30 p.m. Parents and community members are invited to attend.

CBCO Blood Drives

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will conduct a blood drive Tuesday,Dec. 27, at the Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette. Hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital will host a blood drive with CBCO from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the SSMH Annex, 304 S. Maxwell in Siloam Springs. Each participant through Dec. 31 will receive a festive holiday T-shirt and auto window cling. Eligibility requirements include weighing at least 110 pounds, being in general good health and presenting the required identification. Holiday Party Reservations

A Christmas tree has been put up at the Maysville Community Building by members of the Maysville E.H. Club. Anyone desiring to use the building for holiday parties should make reservations by calling 291-0011 or 291-4542.

Christmas Eve Services

Decatur and Highfill United Methodist Churches will hold a special Christmas Eve service celebrating the birth of the Savior on Saturday, Dec. 24th. The Highfill Methodist Church will hold an early service at 3:30 p.m. Decatur Methodist Church will hold its service at 6 p.m. For more information, call 752-3551.

Gravette UMW Christmas Eve Service

The United Methodist Church in Gravette will hold a community Christmas Eve service Saturday, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m. The public is invited to participate in the traditional service. Christmas hymns will be sung, there will be Scriptural readings, Holy Communion will be served and the service will close with congregational candlelighting.

Quilt Class Holiday Potluck

There will be no meeting of the area quilt class during December. The next meeting of the group will be a holiday potluck at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, at the home of Cleta Whitman on Mount Olive Road in Gravette. Tuesday Bible Study

Bible studies (non-denominational) are held at 7 p.m. each Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church in Gravette. All are welcome. For more information, call Bill Bush, pastor, at 283-9346.

Food for Book Fines

Gravette Public Library will accept canned food in lieu of overdue book fines during the month of December. All items will be donated to the Feed My Sheep food pantry. For information, call 787-6955.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Computers for Students

The Gentry Lions Club is accepting used computers to be refurbished and given to students needing a computer. The club is currently accepting desktops and laptops. Hard drives are reformatted and a new operating system installed before they are given away. For more information or to donate a computer, call Randy Moll at 233-0081.

Decatur Food Bank

Living Water Ministries in Decatur opens its food bank every other Friday from 5p.m. to 7 p.m., at 1148 Highway 102 West in Decatur. The next open date for the pantry will be Dec. 23. Anyone who needs assistance is welcome. All that is required is an identification (a photo ID is preferred) and current address. Area Men’s Breakfast

The Decatur United Methodist Church has a men’s breakfast the second Saturday of each month, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Gallery Cafe in Decatur. All area men are invited to join the group for good food and Christian fellowship.

Emergency Help

Families in Gravette School District wishing to apply for emergency help with food or utilities may make application from 9 to 11 a.m., Tuesday through Friday, at the Main Street Care and Share store in Gravette.

Mt. Zion Singing

Regular fourth-Saturday singing will not be held at Mt. Zion Church during December.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur Food Pantry

The Decatur United Methodist Church offers a food pantry program and a commodity food program for residents in Decatur from 5 to 7 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month.

Men's Fellowship

First Baptist Church ofGentry has a monthly Men's Fellowship Gathering at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month. All men are encouraged to come for the food and fellowship. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Madden Waits at 736-5009.

VFW Meetings

Decatur VFW Post 9834 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102, right on Tilly’s Hill Road, and the first building on the right.
