Brandon Lee Baker

Brandon Lee Baker, 21, died Dec. 12, 2011, at his home in Bentonville.

He was born April 26, 1990, in Little Rock, to Leon Earl Baker and Stephanie Ann Ford Baker. He attended Piney Point Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Steven Lee Ford.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Stephanie and Loyd McClure of Bentonville; father and stepmother, Leon and Maria Baker of Rogers; four sisters, Jessica Wheeler and Brandi Easton, both of Rogers, and Ashley Walker and Scott, and Jessica Cox, all of Bentonville; six brothers, his twin, Wesley Baker of Rogers, Levi Baker and Sarah of Centerton, Leon D. Baker and Tyler Baker, both of Rogers, and Ken Grabast and Jared Parks, all of Bentonville; maternal grandmother, Joyce Bradshaw ofGentry; paternal grandparents, Jim and Virginia Baker of Rogers;

Visitation was Dec. 16 at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with cremation following.

Dustin Chamberlain

Dustin Lee Chamberlain, 20, of Siloam Springs, died at his home Dec. 15.

He was born June 18, 1991, in Siloam Springs, to Don Lee Chamberlain and Deondra Jane Wallingford Chamberlain and had been a lifetimeresident. He was a graduate of Siloam Springs High School where he was active in the basketball, cross-country and golf programs. While in high school, Dustin was also active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Big Brothers and Big Sisters program. He had been a student at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and was a sophomore biology and pre-med student. He was active in several student organizations, including the American Medical Student Association, Medical Service Organization and the Bear Pit - a basketball spirit organization. He attended Harris Creek Baptist Church in McGregor, Texas.

Survivors include his parents of the home; one sister, Danae Chamberlain of the home; his paternal grandparents, Leo and Idabell Chamberlain of Colcord, Okla.; and his maternal grandparents, Darrell and Donna Wallingford of Bella Vista.

Funeral services were Dec. 20 at First Baptist Church, with Rocky Spear, Shawn De-Ornellis and Jim Henderson officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Ralph Culver Jr.

Ralph Eugene Culver Jr., of Gravette, died Nov. 28, 2011, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville.

He was born July 19, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to Ralph E.Culver Sr. and Amy Stocker Culver. He attended schools in Chicago and later studied Art at the Chicago Art Institute. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School and worked as a printer for the Remington Rand Corporation in Benton Harbor, Mich. He was in the U.S. Navy during WW II and worked as a ship’s cook aboard the USS Darke APA 159, serving in Trinidad of the British West Indies and in the Asiatic Pacific realm, earning the Victory Medal. After the war, he returned to work as a printer at Remington Rand.He married his high school sweetheart, Dorotha Jean Pulliam Ley, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and worked for Dial Finance Corp. and Grolier Corp. After spending some time in Arizona, he settled in Bentonville and worked as a tool and die maker and served in the Benton County Assessor’s Office. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a 32nd degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of the home; children, Diane Baskette of Chicago, Ill.; Ralph E. Culver III (Lynn) of Mountain Home; Colette Williamson of Searcy; Marty Robinson of Siloam Springs; Kevin Ley (Amy) of Longmont, Colo.; Charles Ley (Tipaya) of Portland, Ore.; Heidi Bailey (Stephen) of Bentonville, and Scott Culver(Kathy) of Edmond, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Neal Childers of Bentonville; Bob and Vertie Prilliam of Walkerton, Ind.; Debra Prilliam of Bremen, Ind.

Cremation arrangements were by Community Funeral Service, Clarksville. He will receive full military honors at Fayetteville National Cemetery at a later date.

Verna Edwards

Verna Beatrice Edwards, 84, of Springdale, died Dec. 17, 2011, at home.

She was born July 8, 1927, in Ponca City, Okla., to Elmer Dixon and Eula Mae Dixon Hogan. She lived in Houston, Texas, prior to moving to Arkansas. She and her family had lived in various countries, including Egypt, Venezuela, Libya and England.She also traveled extensively in the U.S. and around the world. She was a homemaker and a member of Cross Church in Springdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda; brother, Robert Hogan; and stepfather, Tom Hogan.

Survivors include her husband, Lindsey Edwards of Springdale; one son, Jerry Edwards and wife Claudette of Springdale; one daughter, Judy Allen and husband Robert of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters,Hazel Allen of Baytown, Texas, and Lucille Hogue of Gentry; and one brother, Tom V. Hogan and wife Pat of Tavares, Fla.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Cross Church in Springdale, with Charlie Foster officiating. Burial will be in Douglas Cemetery in Highfill. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Keith Glasgow

Keith Andrew Glasgow, 51, of Gentry, died Dec. 11, 2011, at his home.

He was born on May 15, 1960, in Amarillo, Texas, to Francis L. Glasgow and Barbara Jones Glasgow.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Rosser of Bentonville; one brother, Burton Glasgow of Bella Vista; and one sister, Mary Dorsey of Bella Vista.

Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, Bella Vista.

Opal Hawkins

Opal Ford Hawkins, 95, of Gravette, died Dec. 10, 2011, in Bentonville.

She was born Dec. 1, 1916, to Wesley and Mary (Sandusky) Crawford. She was a Christian and was employed at the Co-Op, Bear Brand Hosiery, CTS Factory, First Brand and Barney’s Store in Cave Springs. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and caring for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Olan Ford and Frank Hawkins; a son, Doyal Ford; and her siblings.

Funeral services were Dec. 15 at Rollins Funeral Home, with burial following at Cave Springs Cemetery.

Loretta Johansen

Loretta Amelia Johansen, 79, of Bella Vista, died Dec. 14, 2011, at Concordia Healthcare & Rehab in Bella Vista.

She was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Ryder, N.D., to Otto L. Brandt and Bertha Schuer Brandt. Loretta was raised and educated in North Dakota. She married Delbert P. Johansen July 16, 1950. They farmed in North Dakota. In 1961 they moved to Fairmont, Minn., and in 1970 she began driving truck with her husband. They retired from truck driving in 1991 and moved to Arkansas where they worked for Shepherd’s Chapel in Gravette. Delbert died in 2000 and Lorettamoved to Bella Vista. She enjoyed traveling, crafting and hardanger.

She is survived by one daughter, Becky Rigenhagen and husband Frank of Gravette; one brother, Myron Brandt and wife Betty of Minot, N.D.; one granddaughter; and one greatgrandson.

A memorial service was held Dec. 20, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel in Bella Vista.

Verus Langham Jr.

Verus Milford Langham Jr., 68, of Gentry, died Dec. 12, 2011.

He was born Nov. 28, 1943, in Alexandria, La., to Verus Milford Langham Sr. and Ivy Katherine Miles Langham. He was a carpenter and a U.S. Navy veteran, serving three tours in Vietnam.

He was preceded in deathby a brother, Walter Johnson; and a grandchild, Skyler McCoy.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Langham; two daughters, Heather McCoy of Rogers and Dawn McCollum of Louisiana; two sisters, Nancy Tillman of Arkansas, Shirley Burchett of Texas; three brothers, Dan Johnson of Louisiana, Donald Johnson of Mississippi and Ronald Johnson of Texas; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside service was Dec. 15 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.

Latona Loard

Latona H. Loard, 90, of Bentonville, died Dec. 11, 2011, at the Meadows in Bentonville.

She was born in New Boston, Texas, on Feb. 9, 1921, to N.H. and Maude (Crawford) Huggins. She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas, and completed her master’s degree at West Texas State University. She taught English at the Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas, for 35 years. Most recently she worked for Walmart stores.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, H.C. Loard, who died in 2010.

Graveside services will be private under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

Audrey Wilcox

Audrey Mae Wilcox, 78, of Siloam Springs, died Dec. 18, 2011, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County, Bentonville.

She was born May 21, 1933, in Crocket, Texas, to Henry T. Ennis and Ida Lou Donner. She moved from Texas to Siloam Springs in 1984. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church, Siloam Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Wilcox in 1984.

Survivors include one son, Bruce Wilcox of the home; one daughter, Lynn Sislo and husband Roger of Claremore, Okla.; two grandsons; one great grandson; two brothers, George Ennis of San Antonio, Texas, and Norman Ennis of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Lou Ennis of Houston, Texas, and Emma Moore of Kansas City.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, with Steve Abbott officiating. Burial will follow atHighfill Cemetery in Highfill. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home.

Jerry Wilmoth

Jerry Wilmoth, 72, of Prescott, Ariz., died Dec. 5, 2011, at his home.

He was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Decatur, to James and Lydia Dill Wilmoth. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Edward Wilmoth, Charles Wilmoth, Ross Wilmoth, Amos Wilmoth and Ray Wilmoth.

He is survived by his sister, Pearl Fenton, Grandview, Mo.

Graveside services were Dec. 19 at Falling Springs Cemetery near Decatur.
