Man injured in train incident

A disturbed Gentry youth suffered severe injury to his lower left leg Saturday afternoon when he placed his leg on the track in front of an oncoming Kansas City Southern freight train, according to Gentry police reports.

The youth, identified by police as Corey Wilds, 19, of Gentry, allegedly placed his left leg on the KCS railroad track below the Arkansas Highway 12 overpass shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday.

According to preliminary police reports, Wilds allegedly told an officer that he heard voicesin his head telling him to put his leg on the track.

Wild’s leg was almost completely severed below the knee, according to police reports.
