Maysville E.H. Club meets

— MAYSVILLE - The Maysville E. H. Club met Thursday, Jan. 27, at the home of Nikki Crawley. Fifteen members were present. After a delicious potluck meal the president, Orpha Wardlaw, led the singing of the song “Dixie”. We pledged allegiance to the U. S. flag and Jewel Lukens read a devotional poem entitled “Too Busy”.

Jewel Crawley gave the lesson on the Underground Railroad showing quilt blocks representing different parts of the journey. After completingthe lesson Lou Romine showed a quilt she had made using the blocks. Nikki Crawley gave a talk on foods which were popular during the Civil War. She brought a small sample of shortbread. Melinda also brought a dessert that was used during that time.

We discussed having a fundraiser in the near future. The club has been asked to help out at the Care and Share store in Gravette. Several membersagreed to help.

The Senior Fun Day will be continued here on the first Thursday in March which will be March 3 so come and enjoy the meal and good visiting with your friends.

Our next E. H. Club meeting will be Feb. 24. Melissa Crawley will be the hostess and give the lesson as well as the cultural art item.
