Jack Cooper

Jackie Lee “Jack” Cooper, 63, of Southwest City, Mo., died Feb. 2, 2011, at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Okla.

He was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Southwest City to Ray and Ethel Roy Cooper. He was a lifelong resident of Southwest City, where he graduated from high school. He was an over-theroad truck driver. He attended Full Gospel Church in Southwest City.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Cooper.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Cooper of the home; a daughter, Suzanne Buchite and husband Bob of Decatur; three sons, Tony Cooper of Jay, Okla., Shelby Turner and wife Melissa of Anderson, Mo., and Jeffrey Turner of Booneville; four grandchildren; four brothers, Don Cooper, David Cooper and Kenny Cooper, all of Anderson, and BillCooper of Jay, Okla.; and three sisters, Shirley Wilburn and husband Jack of Healdton, Okla., Francis Sutton of Anderson, and Raylene Reece and husband Donald of Southwest City.

Funeral service was Feb. 8 at Full Gospel Church with Richard Hart officiating. Burial was at Southwest City Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Ozark Funeral Home of Southwest City.

Diana Deady

Diana Marie Deady, 50, of Gravette, died Feb. 5, 2011, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.

She was born March 14, 1960, in Ohio, to William Nathan Deady and June Marie Hurdlicka. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of The First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and other crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three brothers, William Nathan Deady, Jr., of Gravette,Frank Harley Deady of Gravette, Raymond Nathan Deady of Gravette.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs at 10 a.m. Feb. 19, 2011. Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Ricky Harris, Sr.

Ricky Lane Harris, Sr., 46, of Gravette, died Feb. 1, 2011, at Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette.

She was born Jan. 20, 1965, in Coleman, Ala., to Ottis Harris and Pauline Isabell Harris. He was employed in the meat department of Marvin’s Grocery Store in Gravette. He married Christina Davis in Lakeland, Fla., on May 1, 1987.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife Christina of the home; two sons, Pvt. Ricky Harris, Jr., and Charles Harris, both of Gravette; two daughters, Kathryn Harris and Helen Harris, both of Gravette; his mother, Pauline Harris of Lakeland; two brothers, Paul Harris and Lee Harris, both of Lakeland; one sister, Helen Watson of Lakeland.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at Gravette Civic Center in Gravette.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Leona Lee

Leona Anita Lee, 97, of Boerne, Tex., formerly of Gravette, died Jan. 27, 2011.

She was born June 25, 1913, in Beaukiss, Tex., to William and Cora Belle Slaughter. She walked and rode a horse to attend a one-room school. After graduating, she attended college and taught school in Texas for 11 years, where she was principal of an elementary school in Mentone, Tex., and drove a school bus for high schoolstudents to Pecos, Tex., each day and returned to her duties in Mentone. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma for 50 years. After her marriage to Eddie Lee, the couple moved to Arkansas, where they taught for 17 years. At Gravette High School she taught English, drama and speech for more than 10 years. The couple moved to Arizona where she taught until her retirement in 1978.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include one sister, Billie Slaughter Bain of Boerne, Tex.

Following cremation, she was interred at Fort Sam Houston, Tex., next to her late husband.

John Queen III

John M. Queen III, 56, died Feb. 3, 2011, at his home in Gravette.

He was born Sept. 18, 1954, in San Jose, Calif., to John M. Queen Jr. and Ruby G. Reese. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Helga Wallrab on Dec. 9, 1977, in Germany. He was a surveyor and worked for the city of Gravette as a gardener.

Survivors include his wife, Helga Queen, of Gravette; his mother, Ruby Simpson, and her husband James, of Gravette; a daughter, Janet Wadkins, of Owasso, Okla.; a brother, Michael D. Queen, of Gravette; a sister, Jacquelyn Queen of Gravette; and two grandchildren, Garek and Connor Wadkins.

No services are planned. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Lucille Rogers

Edith Lucille Chilcote Rogers, 71, of Gravette, died Feb. 1, 2011, in Gravette.

She was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Caldwell, Idaho, to Roy and Edith Susan Andrus Chilcote. She was retired from Mrs. Baird’s Bakery.

She is survived by her son, Bryan Rogers and wifeRegina of Wylie, Texas; one sister, Marge Warren of Hayward, Calif.; and two granddaughters.

Her family received friends Feb. 4, with an informal service following at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.

Tristan Smith

Tristan Shae Smith, 2 months, 28 days, of Van Buren, died Jan. 29, 2011, at her home.

She was born Nov. 1, 2010, in Fort Smith, to Jacob Smith and Andrea Stahl Smith.

Survivors include her parents, of the home; her grandparents, Sandra and Doug Digby of Gravette, Gale and Rae Jean Smith of Sulphur Springs, and Bill Stahl and Dayla Stahl of Bella Vista.

Funeral services were Feb. 4, 2011, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Joe Lyons officiating. Burial followed at Falling Springs Cemetery, near Decatur.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Dorothy Stump

Dorothy T. Stump, 85, of Gentry, died Feb. 5, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

She was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Canyon, Texas, to Theo W. Turner and May A. Voos Turner. She lived in the area since 1955 and worked for many years as an LPN at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital where she helped to deliver many babies in OB Section. She was a tutor for the Dogwood Literacy Council and was a volunteer for the Siloam Springs Manna Center. She was involved in the WMU and Prayer Ministry at Gentry First Baptist Church. She married Jesse Paul Stump on June 12, 1946, in Gentry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son, Morris Stump.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Benson andhusband Tony of Springdale; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Feb. 8 at First Baptist Church in Gentry, with Robin Cowinand Jack Jones officiating. Burial followed at the Gentry Cemetery in Gentry.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
