Drug arrests made in Decatur

— Five people from Decatur, Gentry and Gravette were arrested on drug charges Feb. 7.

According to arrest records printed in the Benton County Daily Record, the following arrests were made:

◊Gilberto Marin Avila, 31, of Gentry, was arrested in connection with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. On Monday, he was no longer being held in jail according to the Sheriff’s Office Web site.

◊Keith Leroy Davis, 33, of Gravette, was arrested in connection with possession with intent to deliver a counterfeit substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in the course or furtherance of a felony drug violation. Davis was cited and released from the Benton County Jail on Jan. 8.

◊Jerry Wayne Fitts, 41, of Decatur, was arrested in connection with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia in the course or furtherance of a felony drug violation, revocation of a suspended sentence or probation and two counts of misdemeanor failure to appear. On Monday, Fitts was being held in the Benton County Jail with a total of $2,490 in bonds for themisdemeanor counts and a total of $45,000 in bonds for the felony counts.

◊Richard Gayle Osbourn, of Decatur, was arrested in connection with felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. On Monday, Osbourn was being held in the Benton County Jail with a $25,000 bond.

◊Tonya Kay Rankin, 42, of Decatur, was arrested in connection with felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver, and misdemeanor charges of contempt of court. On Monday, she was being held inthe Benton County Jail with a $20,000 bond for the felony charges and a $400 bond for the misdemeanor charge.

Decatur police chief Terry Luker said the Decatur Police Department assisted with the arrests but said he couldn’t give any further comments because they were under the direction of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

Benton County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Doug Gay said on Monday that he was unaware of the incident. Gay said that he would look into it and call back with more information. At press time, no other details were released to the Westside Eagle Observer.
