Teams vie on court in spite of snow

GRAVETTE 59, GENTRY 51 - Shyanne Nichols scored 17 points as visiting Gravette (12-12, 5-7 1-4A Conference) knocked off Gentry on Feb. 8. Destany Wishon added 11 points for Gravette, while Samantha Vanotterloo and Monica White added 10 each. Courtney Millsap led Gentry with 17 points. Kendra Boyd added 13 points and Terra Jones had 10.

GENTRY 57, GRAVETTE 44 - Kevin Scherer had 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead host Gentry past Gravette last Tuesday. Gentry jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Joe Morris added 13 points for Gentry, and Justin Bryant had 11.

GENTRY 53, BERRYVILLE 34 - In Saturday's league bout, the Gentry Lady Pioneers basketball squad toppled the host Berryville Bobcats by a count of 53-34. The Gentry girls jumped ahead in the first quarter, with the only threat of a comeback by the Lady Bobcats being in the second quarter. Linay Walker led Gentry’s scoring with10 points. Courtney Millsap and Kendra Speer each added 9. With the victory, Gentry upgraded its record to 18-7.

GENTRY 53, BERRYVILLE 37 - Gentry’s Pioneers jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the opening quarter and never looked back as they defeated host Berryville. Joe Morris led Gentry with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Kevin Scherer added 21 points and eight rebounds for the Pioneers.

GENTRY 31, PRAIRIE GROVE 49 - On Monday, the Lady Pioneers (18-8 overall and 18-6 in league play) fell in play at Prairie Grove. Prairie Grove took the lead in the first quarter and continued to build on that lead throughout the game. Courtney Millsap led the Lady Pioneers in scoring with 12 points. Destiny Thomas added 8.

GENTRY 33, PRAIRIE GROVE 62 - Gentry’s Pioneers (9-17 overall and 5-9 in league play) couldn’t keep pace with the host Prairie Grove Tigers on Monday. Joe Morris led the Pioneers with 9 points. Kevin Scherer picked up 8.
