Gravette PD logs busy weeks

— Gravette Police Department log showed officers responded to more than 60 calls during the week of Feb. 7-14. These were in addition to normal patrol activity.

A majority of the calls involved special building and agency checks; there were seven animal calls, seven traffic warnings issued, five background checks for other agencies, several motorist assistsand assisted other departments including Arkansas State Police, Sulphur Springs, Bella Vista, Pea Ridge, Siloam Springs and Fire Department Medical.

Four subpoenas were served for Benton County Court, one harassing communication was investigated and there were various traffic assistance deployments. Only one motor-vehicle accident call was answered during the snowy week, but no citations were issued.

Calls logged during the following week showed a similar number of responses, the most prominent being business and school checks; one MVA report, two agency assists and one welfare check. A sparking power pole resulted in a response, but the log indicated no report was written. There was also one juvenile curfew check and at least three calls involving animals.
