— Gladys DeNicholas

Gladys Marie DeNicholas, 97, of Rogers, died Feb. 16, 2011.

She was born June 28, 1913, in Graysonia, to George Robert and Zetta McElhanon Duke. She was a member of the Church of Christ and past worthy matron of Eastern Star.

Survivors include three sons, Charles O. Reeves and wife Betty of Rogers, Jack R. Reeves and wife Susan of Gravette, and Joe C. Reeves and wife Linda of Woodland Hills, Calif.; a brother, Bobby Ray Duke of Bethel Heights; a sister; and 11 grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held.

Arrangements are by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home in Rogers.

Armond Farley

Armond Earl Farley, 59, of Gravette, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at his home in Gravette.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1951, in Harlem, Ky., to Armond Farley and Mattie Michael Farley. He was a combat engineer trainer, part of the 7th Calvary and part of the Armored Engineer Division of the United States Army. He served his country for 9 1/2 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Deborah Collins;and one grandson, James O. Russell.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara A. Farley, of Gravette; two daughters, Stephanie A. Jenkins of Gravette and Nancy M. Raines of Ellington, Mo.; two sisters, Diana Harris of Arizona and Patricia Farley of Kentucky; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Mount Pleasant Church in Hiwasse. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory in Bella Vista.

Oleta McGarrah

Oleta McGarrah, 73, of Siloam Springs, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

She was born on July 6, 1937, in Gentry, to William Ralph Setser and Mabel Louella Cantrell Setser. She married Harlow Mc-Garrah on Sept. 14, 1953, in Bentonville. She and Harlow were farmers and she worked for Simmons Poultry for many years in quality control. She enjoyed flower gardening, being a seamstress and cooking. She was a member of the Jesus Name Assembly in Springdale.

Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Robbi McGarrah and wife Paula of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Deborah Brown and husband Joe of Springdale, and Vickie McCormick and husband Ken of Siloam Springs; one brother, Bill Setser of Springdale; four sisters, Mae Robertson of Bella Vista, Bertie Fisher of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Charlene Edwards and Linda Price, both of Springdale; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale on Feb. 22, with Joe Brown officiating. Burial was at the Frisco Springs Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel.

Travis McKinley

Travis McKinley, 43, of Gravette, died Feb. 10, 2011, at his home.

He was born Sept. 4, 1967, in Newton, Kan., to Keith and Margaret (Long) McKinley. He was a chef and he loved to fish.

He is survived by his parents, Keith and Margaret McKinley of Chehalis, Wash.; a daughter, Debbie Jean Spears of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Richard Allen McKinley and Alexander James McKinley, both of the Gravette area; threebrothers, Tracy McKinley of Gentry, Trent McKinley of Buffalo, Texas, and Trevor McKinley of Rogers.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Jesse Oxford

Jesse Vern Oxford, 79, of Gravette. died Feb. 14, 2011, at home.

He was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Clifty to Virgil Monroe and Myrtle Mae Kirk Oxford. He was a selfemployed brick mason and enjoyed going to flea markets.

Survivors include three sons, Bob Long and wife Jacque of Sallisaw, Okla., Jackie Oxford and wife Trisha of Garfield, and Jo Dean Oxford of Pea Ridge; four daughters, Judy Bowen and husband Leonard of Huntsville, Donna France and husband Gary of Pea Ridge, Sue Adams of Alex, Okla., and Linda Hook and husband Wayne of Gravette; two sisters, including June Ingram of Avoca; 16 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Feb. 17 at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Burial was at Buttrams Chapel Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Viah Meador Goodlett

Viah Meador Goodlett, 92, passed from this earthly life into eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Heritage Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Rogers, Arkansas. Viah was born January 24, 1919, in Erath County, Texas, to Willie Edna Cox and Nat Meador. She was reared by her mother and step-father, Robert Lee Bunch, graduating in 1937, from Dunn, Texas, High School. She married thelove of her life, Reuben Craig Goodlett, on May 14, 1939. Together they raised cotton in west Texas until they came to northwest Arkansas in the early 1950ís, fell in love with the area and bought a farm near Vaughn, Arkansas. Here Viah and Reuben reared their family of six children becoming rmly implanted in the fabric of Benton County.

Viah loved her family and her church, Mason Valley Baptist Church, where she served as a Bible teacher, Sunday School teacher, with the Womenís Missionary Union, Vacation Bible School, and in any capacity where she was needed. She lived out her faith daily in the lives of her family, friends, neighbors, and any strangers she might meet. Viah was a well known landscape artist in the area, teaching classes at the Adult Education Center. She retired from Bemco in Centerton, Arkansas, and was active in Home Demonstration Club, a 4-H leader, helped with many school activities, but most of all enjoyed big family gatherings at their farm with children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Reuben, on October 7, 1994, and one granddaughter, Sena Nicole Goodlett, on November 29th, 2006; her two brothers, Van Meador and J.L. Bunch, and sister, Ruth Franks.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Dana Ann McDowell of Centerton, Ruby and John Turnipseed of Rogers, Judy and Vernon Davis of Decatur, Linda Allen of Gentry, Viah and David Carlson of Bentonville, and Craig Goodlett and Tina Warford of Decatur.

Survivors also include grandchildren Charles (Sandy) McDowell, Kathy (Brett) Thomas, Rachel McDowell, Lt. Colonel John (Tricia) Turnipseed, William (Tammie) Turnipseed, Tanya Burns (Krit Radmer), Zeke (Andrea) Allen, Zane (Delta) Allen, April (Brannon) Randolph, Kimberly Viah and Michael Carlson, Keith and Nicholas Goodlett, and great-grandchildren Andrea and Andrew McDowell, Savanna, Caroline, Tiffany and John III Turnipseed, Alyssa Allen, Zeb and Rosalie Viah Allen; sister in lawís, Doris Bunch of Odessa, Texas, Wanda Goodlett of Dunn, Texas, and brother in law, Charles Goodlett of Colorado City, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00PM Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Friday, February 18, 2011, at Mason Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Hinson, the Rev. Earl Willoughby, and the Rev.

Bobby Bennett of ciating. Burial will be at Coffelt Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Viahís grandsons.
