— Homecoming wins were not in the cards for Gravette at last Friday night’s homecoming celebration as Shiloh Christian took both games from the Lions. The boys dropped their game to the visitors 65-39 following the queen coronation ceremony and the Shiloh girls took their game 57-41.

In the boys’ game, the Lions just couldn’t seem to find the basket early-on as Shiloh took a 12-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 27-15 at half-time.

It was all Shiloh’s defense that dominated the game in which Cody Montee was the only Lion in double figures with 17 points. Vanotterloo had 8, Strzelecki 6, Pollreis and Graham 3 each, and Bilderback 2.

In the girls’ game, the visitors also headed out to a 24-8 first quarter score and, after both teams struggled in the second half, Shiloh went to the locker room with a 31-11 lead.

Shelby Newell, with 14 points, led all scorers, with Nichols adding 11, Vanotterloo 6, and Kappel and Wishon 5 apiece.

Gravette was to host the Gentry Pioneers Tuesday night and will entertain Prairie Grove Friday and Berryville next Tuesday at Lion Fieldhouse.
