— We had a spell of winter weather. I guess that is to be expected in January.

Sorry about items not being in the paper. There was a problem with available space at the office and the items I have already sent in will be published along with this week’s news.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker came up and watched the Sugar Bowl game with me. Sure did enjoy them coming up. I wish we had won, but at least they got to go to a bowl game.

Nanete Lovell had the misfortune of falling and injuring her ankle. She has been told to stay off of it for six to eight weeks. Hope it shows fast improvement.

My brother Vernon Vandiver and his grandson, my nephew Eli Vandiver and friend of Bella Vista visited me Sunday afternoon. Sure did enjoy them. We had a good visit.

It was good to see Eula Evans at church Sunday morning. She was feeling better. We miss her when she doesn’t come.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

On Saturday before Christmas, I had my brothers and sisters here at my home. They were Jim Vandiver of Broken Arrow, Okla., Vernon Vandiver and wife Janis and Frances Sims of Bentonville, Marie Crawford and husband Jim of Decatur. We had a goodmeal and enjoyed visiting in the afternoon. It was a great day. We always enjoy our time together.

A group of 23 relatives gathered in the home of Billy and Violet Lovell’s home on Christmas Eve. They hada great meal and gift exchange.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker spent Christmas Day in the home of their daughter, Patti King, in Lowell. Others attending were Sammie Sappington and friend of Fayetteville, Staci Hunt and son Noah and a friend of Fayetteville. They report a good meal, visiting and gift exchange.

Orpha Wardlaw and other family members spent Christmas Day in the home of Steve and Ellen (Wardlaw) Harris in Ponca City, Okla. They reported a wonderful day together.

My visitors on Christmas Day were Gary and Helen Chism, Clifton and Judy Tucker, Julie Cook and Billy, Tracy Warren and Skyler, Brad Tucker, Khloe and Kade. I enjoyed all of them. We had a good time.

Jewel Lukens spent Christmas Day in the home of J. D. and Sue Smith of Cherokee City. There were 36 family and friends in attendance.

On Sunday we had another Christmas Day here at my house. Those attending were Steve and Susan Tucker of Bella Vista, Seth and Melody Tucker of Harrison. We had an enjoyable day and good meal. I had to share with other families on Christmas Day and that was alright. At least they got to be here the day after.

Sylvia Tucker visited me one afternoon the week before Christmas. We always enjoy visiting.

The Maysville Baptist Church had a good Christmas program on Sunday evening before Christmas. There was a large crowd in attendance and refreshments followed.

Patti King of Lowell visited her parents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, on Tuesday of last week.
