Poultry registration currently under way

— The annual registration for all owners of Poultry Feeding Operations began Jan. 1 and will continue through March 31, according to the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission.

Registration is required of all growers who have 2,500 or more confined fowl.

The ANRC administers the registration program for the purpose of collecting information on the number and type of poultry and practices ofpoultry feeding operations in the state.

Poultry growers may register their operations through the Benton County Soil Conservation District. There is a $10 annual registration fee.

Failure to register could result in penalties including fines.
