Phillips benefit planned for Feb. 5

— WESTSIDE - A benefit for Scott Phillips, UPS driver for 22 years including in the Gravette area, will be held Saturday, February 5, at the Rodeo Community Center in Springdale.

Phillips was recently diagnosed with A.L.S., often refereed to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. There is no cure.

Activities at the Center, 1423 E. Emma in Springdale, will begin at 4:30 p.m. with musical entertainment by two bands,“About the Father’s Business” and Johnny Dale Roberts and “Along For the Ride” featuring guest star J. W. Brooks from Gravette.

A chicken dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8 donation and $5 for age 10 and under. A live auction which includes autographed Razorback football merchandise, jewelry, a pro photo shoot and many other items begins at 4:30.
