Ruth Burrow

Ruth Alice Burrow, 79, of Siloam Springs, died Jan. 18, 2011, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab.

She was born July 24, 1931. She was a medical transcriber. In 1982, at the age of 50, she graduated from John Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She was of the Baptist Faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Burrow.

Survivors include three children.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab.

A private burial will be held at Falling Springs Cemetery near Decatur.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home.

Mary Forbes

Mary Margaret Forbes, 77, of Noel, Mo., died Jan. 17, 2011, at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, Mo.

She was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Neosho, Mo. She and her husband of 60 years, Barney Forbes, were well known in Gravette and at one time operated a tri-state newspaper, “The Current,” at Southwest City, Mo.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, are a son, Charles, of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Martha Luebker of Russellville; one brother, Dr. Charles Wilson of San Francisco; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Jan. 22 at the Presbyterian Church in Gravette. Arrangements were by Parker Funeral Service.

Beverley Holzkamper

Beverley Jean Holzkamper, 63, of Watts, Okla., died Jan. 21, 2011, at her home.

She was born Jan. 23, 1947, in Bisbee, Ariz., to David Edmond and Mildred Eslick Garner. She was a computer teacher, did graphic design and was a minister of Christ at the General Assembly of the Firstborn in Watts.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Vance Holzkamper; a daughter, Teresa Glynn Bowman of Little Rock; three sons, Anthony Dewayne Wiley of Claremore, Okla., Joshua Darrell Holzkamper of West Siloam Springs, Okla., and Justin Farrell Holzkamper and wife Jaylene of Siloam Springs; three sisters, including Belinda Woodral of Gentry; two brothers; five grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild.

Cremation arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Hugh Jeffus

Hugh M. Jeffus, 79, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Jan. 18, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

He was born June 16, 1931, in Wheeler County, Texas, to Paul Vain Jeffus and Fannie Mae (Adcock) Jeffus. He graduated from high school in Mobeetie, Texas, in 1948. After he finished high school, his family relocated to Northwest Arkansas, where Hugh worked on the family's farm until he was drafted into the Army in 1952, during the Korean War, and went to leadership school and officer candidate school and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the Medical Field Service School. After his Army service, hereturned to Gentry, where he and a friend ran a dairy farm. He obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Arkansas and a doctor of engineering degree in water resources engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He taught at the University of Arkansas Civil Engineering Department, worked as a water resources engineer at the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and taught at Tarleton State University. He was a member of the Springtown Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Jeffus; three children, Stephanie Cowan and husband, David of Fayetteville, Stephen Jeffus and wife Elena of Dallas, Texas, and Scot Jeffus and wife Sabra of Springdale; and six grandchildren.

A celebration of his life was held Jan. 21 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, with Larry Joe Johnson officiating.

Arrangements were by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory in Fayetteville.

Franklin Reeves, Jr.

Franklin Gene Reeves, Jr., 45, of Hiwasse, died Jan. 18, 2011, in Rochester, Minn.

He was born April 30, 1965, in Joplin, Mo., to Franklin Gene Reeves, Sr., and Mary Thornton Reeves. He attended the Hiwasse Christian Church. He was a master level Toyota technician and had worked for Hugg & Hall Equipment for more than 20 years.

He enjoyed racing stockcars, camping, fishing and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by hiswife, Anita Gayle Warren Reeves, of the home; one son, Keith Franklin Reeves, of the home; one daughter, Sarah Ann Reeves of Siloam Springs; his parents of Springdale; one brother, Randy Reeves of Centerton; and one sister, Mary Ann Reeves of Lowell.

Funeral services were Jan. 25 at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Lee McClanathan and Mark Galoway officiating. Burial followed in Bluff Cemetery, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Richard Ryan

Richard Raymond Ryan, 58, of Decatur, died Jan. 15, 2011, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs.

He was born April 19, 1952, in Siloam Springs, to Raymond Richard Ryan and Mary Virginia Motschman. He was a long-time resident of northwest Arkansas and was a self-employed carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; a sister, Linda Ryan; and brother, Gary Ryan.

Survivors include a daughter, Chelsea Palmer of Decatur; and a son, Raymond J. Ryan of Fayetteville.

Memorial services were Jan. 22, at the United Methodist Church in Decatur.
