Sympathy is extended to the McCarty family for their loss. The family once lived in Hiwasse and still have connections in the area.

Congratulations to Cameron Cowgur Crane for the award he received from Hendrix College in Conway.

Hiwasse was honored Friday afternoon when Governor Beebe, U. S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and other officials gathered at the east end of town to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hiwasse bypass.

Shirley Belts fell and broke her kneecap and will be spending some time in rehab. Let’s remember her in our prayers.

Those having lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Amy Brooks and myself. Lamarise Carrier had to leaveearly to go to work.

Saturday night the Keith family had a gathering at the home of Paula Hutchenson. They enjoyed being together and Paula’s swimming pool.

Tami Presley goes to Little Rock Wednesday to have tests done. Keep her in your prayers.

Vickie Sandlin Steirn and daughter Angela left Sunday to return to their home in California after a visit with family here. On Saturday the family enjoyed a gathering at the home of Brenda Whiteside.

Rick Banks and Betty Clardy are both on our sick list at this time. Remember them in your prayers.

Mitch Rogers reports that his brother Michael is improving. However his brother Marty has been readmitted to the hospital in Dallas. Also Jan’s sister, Evelyn Campbell, is in the Dallas hospital. Let’s keep the family in our prayers.

Ron and Karen Burns have returned from a sixday vacation in Oklahoma. On Saturday Karen attended a 16th birthday party for her great-niece at the home of Kathy Garrett.

Pastor and Mrs. Blanchard of the Northwest Community Church have a new baby girl.

Thursday night Robert and Geneva Hamilton and Robert’s nephew and family from Colcord had supper with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Paul Hamilton and had a good visit.

Kolton Hamilton has spent the week with a group from the Bentonville church at the Nazarene Youth International Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.

Robert Hamilton had a friend from Kansas City spend Friday and Saturday nights with him as his son was playing in a ball tournament in Fayetteville. Robert attended the game with him on Saturday.

Larry and Zena Weihe have been in Minnesota to welcome a new grandson born to their daughter Tami on Wednesday.
