Houtchens was part of a group of nearly 40 recent high school graduates who spent two weeks touring famous biblical and archaeological sites, including The Acropolis, Mars Hill, Temple of Poseidon, Temple of Artemis, the National Archaeological Museum of Greece, Ancient Corinth, Philippiand Thessaloniki. The trip also included a cruise to the Greek islands of Patmos, Crete, Rhodes and Santorini.

Students were led by Monte Cox, dean of the College of Bible and Religion, and earned three hours of college credit for the Bible course, The Mediterranean World, which explores the language and culture of the first century Greco-Roman world.

The students lived just outside of Athens in Harding’s Christian Conference Center. All will be welcomed to the Harding University campus in Searcy this fall as freshmen.
