— Haley Edgmon, 7, daughter of John and Karen Edgmon, recently competed in the American Tae Kwon Do (ATA) World Champions tournament held in Little Rock, where she tied for second in the state in traditional weapons and fourth in traditional forms.

Haley, the granddaughter of Bill and Susan Edgmon of Gravette, competed in the 8-and-under age group with competitors from around the world who hold brown through recommended black belts. She has been participating in the sport for about three years and holds the Red Belt Decided rank, working on her recommended Black Belt in August.

Haley’s goal, said her parents, who live in Bella Vista, “is to win the Arkansas state championship during the 2011-2012 year.”
