MT. PLEASANT NEWS

Hello to all from the folks at Mt. Pleasant. It’s been a while since I have written for the paper and it’s nice to know it has been missed.

Marlene Bush, Jim Kerr and wife and Dorene Wills were recent visitors at Mt. Pleasant.

What happened to our spring, early summer fruit crop? I wasn’t able to pick any strawberries. Did get a few blueberries but not anything like last year. Wildblackberries! Didn’t get a one. The blossoms looked promising but I didn’t find any berries. My tame patch at home has done great though, so I won’t complain too much. I just miss the wild blackberries.

Mt. Pleasant suffered the loss of members the last few months. Earl Farley, husband to Barbara, passed away recently. Edna Jordan, mother to Gloria Laughlin, also recently passed away. Our last one was Katherine Russell. All are greatly missed.

Katherine had lived in Oklahoma for the last several years.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Mary Sawyer and the kids. Buzz passed away Saturday after a short illness. He will be greatly missed.

Mt. Pleasant held its annual “Kids Day” Bible school Saturday. We had a great attendance by both children and adults. As an end to the day we had the White Mouse Puppets.

I hope everyone has a great week. Stay cool and God bless.
