— Guess those pop-up rain showers are just going around us. I’m sure we’ll get some when it’s our turn. I hope that is soon.

Sylvia Tucker visited Johnnie Mae Marshall one afternoon last week. They always enjoy the time visiting.

The County Fun Day ofall Benton County E.H. Clubs was held at Maysville Community Building on Friday. There are 13 county clubs but I don’t know if all were represented or not. There were probably 80 in attendance, maybe more. Robert Seay of the County Extension Office and Jim Singleton cooked the hamburgers and hot dogs. We had all the trimmings andeach one brought a dish. We had plenty of food, a good program and several door prizes. It was a good day. The Maysville Club hosted it.

On Thursday evening, my sister-in-law Janis Vandiver and sister Frances Sims of Bentonville came after me and we went to our great-nephew’s wedding in Decatur. Ourbrother, Jim Vandiver of Broken Arrow, Okla., was there. The groom was the grandson of our other sister, Marie Crawford. It was a nice wedding for Brian Sousley of Decatur and Michelle Asbury of Vaughn.

Orpha Wardlaw had visitors this weekend, her daughter Christi of Little Rock and two grandchildren, Zack and SelenaFincher of Tulsa, Okla. I think the grandchildren are going to stay a few days before they go back to school, and Christi is on vacation.

Maysville Club members, remember this Thursday is club day. We are only having an afternoon meeting, no lunch. The business meeting is at 1 p.m. We paid dues last month, sothose of you who were absent will pay this Thursday. See you all there.

My neighbor, Lowess Jasper, and I went to the singing at Mt. Zion Church. We heard some good singing and they had plenty of good food. We enjoyed the singing and the visiting afterward. It is held the fourth Saturday of each month.
