Postmaster retiring

WESTSIDE — HIWASSE - Geneva Hamilton, postmaster at Hiwasse, will be retiring from that position on Friday, Aug. 5. Friends and patrons are invited to “drop by” between now and then to say good-bye to the lady who has served the community the past six years.

Hamilton began as postmaster relief in 1996 until her promotion to the postmaster position six years ago.

According to her daughter Marlo, there will be cake for her last day, which will be served while she is not busy attending to customers. The best hours to visit with her are between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
