Two races contested in school elections

— At least one school board position in both the Gentry and Gravette School Districts is being contested in the annual election scheduled Tuesday, Sept. 20. No other contested races had developed as of Friday, the deadline for filing.

Those who filed for positions in Gentry include:◊Zone 1 - Gary Dunlap;

◊Zone 2 - Dani Cypert;

◊Zone 3 - Clarence Kreger;

◊Zone 4 - Randall Bolinger and Kent Swinne;

◊Zone 5 - Jim Barnes;

◊At Large - Coye Cripps;

and◊At Large - David Williamson.

In Gravette the following filed for the respective positions:◊Position 5 - Jim Singleton;

◊Position 6 - John Ekstrand, Susan Santos and Jonathan Watson.

Those in Decatur who filed:◊Zone 1 - No candidate;

and◊Zone 3 - Kevin W. Smith.

Candidates have until noon this Wednesday, July 27, to file their intention as write-in candidates. For information, contact the office of the County Clerk, 271-1013.
