Burrus anniversary announced

— Emily Burrus announceed the 25th wedding anniversary of her parents, Jim and Dianne Burrus of Gentry.

Jim and Dianne (Holland) were married June 14, 1986 at Gum Springs Baptist Church by the bride’s father, Bruce Holland.

When the couple married, Jim was serving in Germany with the U.S. Army and Dianne was teaching at Gentry High School. After finishing the remaining six months of Jim’s tour of duty in Germany, the couple moved to Ft. Dix, N.J., where they spent the remaining five years of Jim’s 20 years of service.

Upon Jim’s retirement from the Army in 1991, they returned to make their home in Springtown, where Jim opened Top’s Hometown Auto repair. Dianne returned to teaching school in Gentry. Jim iscurrently a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Gentry and Dianne continues teaching seventh grade science at the Gentry Middle School.

The couple will celebrate with a drop-in reception Saturday, June 18, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Highfill Baptist Church. Friends of the couple are invited to attend. No gifts are requested.
