Wrestlers coming to Decatur Barbecue

— Noark Wrestling will be providing a free wrestling show during the 58th Annual Decatur Barbecue on Aug. 6.

Junior Orullian and "Mr. Big $$$" Brian Montgomery of Noark Wrestling attended Monday's Chamber of Commerce meeting to request that their family-friendly wrestling show be a part of the Decatur Barbecue.

Noark Wrestling is based inSiloam Springs and provides free wrestling shows at events such as Gentry's Freedom Festival and the Dogwood Festival, Orullian told the chamber. The wrestling show drew a crowd of more than 500 spectators at one time during the recent Dogwood Festival, he said. He said his company is dedicated to clean shows and requires wrestlers to take random drug tests and have good values.

"It's all for the kids ... The kids love it and eat it up," Orullian said.

The wrestlers compete in a ring similar to the ones on television. They are bonded by the Arkansas Athletic Commission and have liability insurance, he said.

"I'm personally in favor of it," said Chamber of Commerce President David Flynt.

Stacy Brooks pointed out that the show would offer more diversity.

Chamber members voted to allow the company to present a wrestling show during the Barbecue from noon until 4 p.m.
